About This Event

Learn the most popular style of tai chi right from your chair! Following the principles of safe and effective practice, we’ll explore the upper body movements of the Yang 24 sequence in an accessible, simplified practice. Whether you’re looking for a wellness routine that fits your physical needs or an easier way to learn the world’s most-practiced tai chi form, seated yang will engage your brain, awaken your core and release tension.

Each class will include qigong warmups and cooldowns, with the option to explore the movements standing. Even when we're seated, we'll be working on

* deliberate weight transference

* healthy posture

* relaxed breathing

* body awareness

* movements to improve balance and agility

We'll meet at 10 a.m. ET for twelve Tuesdays, June 9 through August 25,  in person from the Springfield UU Meetinghouse and via Zoom livestream online. Classes are 60 minutes, and recordings will be posted afterwards so you can access them on your schedule (whether you're able to attend the live session or not).

It will take you just a moment to get the link you need, keep our classes secure, and provide you with emailed reminders before each class. I appreciate you taking this step as soon as you register, so you won't have to scramble as class is starting each time.

If you're watching the livestream, please attend from a location where I can see you from the seat up. You'll want to practice from a sturdy, armless chair.

However you're planning to attend, I recommend having a full water bottle with you, and wearing comfortable clothing for practice. Let me know if you have any additional questions I can answer by emailing me at jo@jobregnard.com. I look forward to practicing with you!
